KPCW Water Waste Photo Contest

PURPOSE

80% of water is wasted outdoors.

KPCW’s Local News Hour and This Green Earth programs are teaming up with local organizations to help spread awareness of water waste in Summit County, and its impacts on local lifestyles, economy, ecosystems and future.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Take a photo of water waste happening outside near your home, school or work and send it in to KPCW to enter our ‘Water Waste Photo Contest!
  2. Submit your photo, with your name, age, email and phone number to contest@kpcw.org. With your photo, include why your example of water waste is bad, and how you would fix it.
  3. A panel of judges from KPCW, Recycle Utah, local governments and organizations will choose the winners.
  4. Contestants can submit as many photos as they would like, but only one per email, and they are only eligible for one prize.
  5. Ten winners will be chosen and announced over the summer, and receive prizes to local resorts, restaurants and activities. At the end of the summer, one of those winners will become the Grand Prize Winner of a $100 cash prize. The Grand Prize Winner will be asked on to the Local News Hour with Leslie Thatcher to talk about their winning entry.
The first winner will be announced Friday, June 12th, during the Local News Hour.
