Spring is for soccer! PC Recreation offers Start Smart and Match Mix Up programs for kids to develop their skills in a fun environment. Start Smart Soccer, for ages three to 5, is a parent/child program and is held April 21st to May 19th on Saturdays. Match Mix Up, for ages 11-15 of all abilities, offers skill development and team play from April 25th to May 30th on Wednesdays. Park City Extreme Cup Tournament

The Park City Extreme Soccer Cup is here for the 14th year.  The tournament has expanded with nearly 500 teams in town this weekend.  All the fields are scheduled from early morning until dark.  Carolyn Murray has more:

The 11th annual Park City Extreme Cup is not your everyday soccer tournament - with 436 teams descending upon Park City and the Heber Valley - this tournament brings some 20,000 people to town. Lynn Ware Peek has more.

Real Salt Lake has signed a 17 year old Park City soccer star to its team - becoming the 8th ever Homegrown player to join the team. KPCW's Leslie Thatcher has more.

As volunteer soccer referee Ricardo Portillo is laid to rest after suffering a fatal blow to his head by a 17 year old soccer goalie, communities across the country – and right here in Park City – begin to assess what went wrong so something like this never happens again.  KPCW’s Leslie Thatcher reports.
