To extend Earth Day on April 22nd, Recycle Utah has come up with what's called "Sustainability Month" with activities in April and May. Lynn Ware Peek has more.

More than 500 students in area schools were led through classes as well as fun and games to learn more about the importance of water at the annual water festival sponsored by Recycle Utah. KPCW's Leslie Thatcher has more.

Recycle Utah knows somewhere in your drawer are all your old cell phones! Drop them off at the Recycling Center where we collect all types of electronic waste. Electronic devices contain materials that are not biodegradable and toxic to humans and our environment. No excuse to throw it away; we’re open Daily!

Happy Valentine’s Day from Recycle Utah. Consider giving your loved one a healthy treat such as organic fair-trade chocolate. Choose organic flowers over conventionally grown bouquets. Many imported flowers have toxic pesticides and other chemicals, so ask before you buy.  

No Water, No Future

Recycle Utah will be screening the documentary ‘Last Call at the Oasis’ Thursday, February 13th at the Jim Santy Auditorium, thanks to the Park City Film Series. Learn about the global water crisis and how you can be a part of the solution. This screening is free, but a donation of $5 will be gladly accepted. 

For the staff of Recycle Utah, 2013 has been a year of changes, challenges and accomplishments. Rick Brough has more.

Hosts Nell Larson and Chris Cherniak save the world once again with their latest installment of This Green Earth.

Chris and Nell first speak with Lisa Schneider of Habitat for Humanity and Jeff Hymas with Rocky Mountain Power about Habitat's most recent home on Marsac Avenue - it's "wattsmart".  Then, they speak to Insa Riepen of Recycle Utah about all the holiday waste that's actually recyclable, fruitcake excluded.

Last Friday was America Recycles Day, but the local group Recycle Utah put out some tips to remember for the remaining 364 days of the year. Rick Brough has more. 

The Park City Conservation Association - better known as Recycle Utah - wants to raise awareness of water conservation and a committee has formed to do just that. KPCW's Leslie Thatcher has more.
