The Project for Deeper Understanding hosted its April Forum, inviting the public to take a look at the bill proposed by U.S. Rep. Rob Bishop (R-Utah Dist. 1) and U.S. Rep. Jason Chaffetz  (R-Utah Dist. 3). the Utah Public Lands Initiative website, featuring the draft bill. KPCW broadcast the entire forum live Tuesday night.

The Public Lands Initiative: Is it Right for Us?

  • Will it protect Utah’s wilderness lands?
  • Will it promote economic development?
  • Who will win and who will lose?
  • Can the right balance be found?


The purpose of this public forum is education through respectful listening and discussion.  It will be an opportunity to provide information and insights, as well as to correct misunderstandings.

The Project for Deeper Understanding on Tuesday hosted a forum on the Park City School Bond – hearing from both sides of the issue.  Lynn Ware Peek has more.

On today's Local News Hour, host Leslie Thatcher speaks to Park City planning Kirsten Whetstone about Wednesday's planning commission meeting.  Summit County manager Tom Fisher reviews the county council agenda, Pastor Charles Robinson is moderating Thursday's Project for Deeper Understanding on Death with Dignity. He's joined by two of the panelists, Yarrow Hospice director Liana Teteberg and Dr. Margaret Battin, a professor of philosophy and bioethics at the University of Utah and Teri Orr and Katie Wright have details on Thursday's TedXWomen event at the St. Regis.
