School Budget May Increase $7 million Next Year

The Park City School District is looking at a budget increase of about 7 million dollars for next school year. In the past, budget talks happened in the winter and early spring of the calendar year but the school district is taking a different approach now.  Carolyn Murray has this: 

Erin Grady

A longtime local and Park City High School graduate, Erin Grady, was named to serve the unexpired term of school board member Julie Eihausen. 

Erin Grady was one of two candidates for the position. She has lived in Park City for 34 years and was educated in Park City schools. She currently serves as co-president of the PTA at Parleys’ Park Elementary school. She is also a board member of PC READS and the Figure Skating Club of Park City. She also served for 12 years as communications manager for Deer Valley Resort.

Park City High School

This is Park City High School’s second year to host Utah College Application week.  Representatives from each college and university across the state will visit the school to help students complete submit their respective college applications. Carolyn Murray has this:

Two candidates have applied for the Park City School Board seat opening up in February.  Julie Eihausen is resigning from the board effective early February.  Interviews for her replacement are Tuesday starting at 9 am.  Carolyn Murray has this:

Park City Board of Education

The Park City Board of Education held their last public Strategic Planning session on Wednesday evening.  Teachers and administrators were not invited to attend.  This was in response to an early October meeting where parents said they were uncomfortable talking openly about their issues in front of school staff.   Carolyn Murray has this:
