The report of an attempted kidnapping in Kamas last Thursday turned out to be a fabrication by the supposed victim, an eight-year-old boy. Rick Brough has more.

It was a bad case of deja vu, for Rockport Estates homeowners and local firefighters, as a fire broke out Friday afternoon close to the same area as the Rockport blaze last August. The good news is that the fire was of less duration and inflicted less damage. An evacuation for 200 homes in the Rockport area was ordered Friday afternoon, but was lifted later that night. The spokesmen for the North Summit Fire District, Tyler Rowser, reported about 3 p.m. Sunday that the fire was entirely contained, with 120 acres burned. Lynn Ware Peek has more.
