Author Katie Mullaly talks about her Self-Publishing Your Children’s Book class, which is part of Park City community education programming. Joining her is Jane Toly, who has an update on some of the other class offerings.

Ron Phillips, General Manager with the Jordanelle Special Services District, discusses plans to build a new administrative facility, the response to new building, growth in the district, what's happening with the Mayflower development, and the water needs of that project.

Park City Manager Diane Foster previews the agenda for Thursday's city council meeting, including another look at the new Treasure Hill proposal. Then it's U.S.

First up this morning we are joined by Drew Hardesty and Paul Diegel of the Utah Avalanche Center to talk about the avalanche season, fatalities, side-country and social responsibility. Our second guest is  Karin Carestia, owner of Alpine Apothecary.  She is in studio to talk about her line of skin care - addressing the special needs of sun beaten/wind beaten skin in dry climate at 7,000 feet!   And last,  George Garvin is here to tell us about an event, The 5 Tai Chi Sessions with Master Jesse Tsao in early March.

  Today in the program,   we move into winter, first with Drew Hardesty and Paul Diegel of the Utah Avalanche Center. Then, winter and wine?  I guess that works.  We speak with Karen McNeil, one of the foremost wine experts in the country about her new book, The Wine Bible.     Finally we’ll speak with World Cup Gold Medal Champion Ski Mountaineer Nina Silitch about a new team forming at the Utah Olympic Park.

A backcountry skier dragged into a ravine by an avalanche Monday was saved by a special air bag she deployed in a bid to stay afloat. KPCW's Leslie Thatcher has more.

The Utah Avalanche Center, in its first report of the season, warns citizens of the the perfect storm of avalanche danger, taking place in the early season due to the first significant snowfall blankets the Wasatch Mountains. KPCW's Lynn Ware Peek has more.
