A Park City resident is on the Republican Primary ballot for Senate District 26.  The district is huge and includes Summit and Wasatch Counties along with three Uintah Basin counties.   Kevin Van Tassell, a resident of Vernal, is retiring after 12 years serving in the state senate.  There are some unusual characteristics of this upcoming primary election.   Carolyn Murray has this:

Utah lawmakers are in session for the fifth week and education bills are plentiful. The legislature is also facing a handful of potential ballot measures that would increase school funding along with other important citizen-initiated bills.  Carolyn Murray has this:
