A group of residents living in Browns Canyon are worried that a developer’s request to amend the building code and increase densities will permanently ruin the rural lifestyle of the east side of Summit County. Carolyn Murray has this:
The Eastern Summit County Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing tonight to discuss a Development Agreement Amendment for the South Point of the Promontory Specially Planned Area, which is proposing nearly three times the amount of density that was originally approved.
South Point, a large residential, commercial, and hotel project proposed for Brown's Canyon, was introduced Thursday at a public hearing before the East Side Planning Commission. In the public hearing, the project caught flak from almost everyone that commented. But before that, the developers presented details, and what they see as benefits from the proposal. Rick Brough has more.
