Feng Shui Your Closets and Garage - Ski Swap Season is Here

Park City Ski Swap
Early check-in for the swap begins on Monday at Jan's Mountain Outfitters and Cole Sport.

Park City Ski Team director Jesse Hunt said it’s time to go through your winter sports gear and decide what you may want  to sell or may need to buy because the 44th AnnualSki and Snowboard Swap is taking place on Nov. 4 - 6 at the Basin Recreation  Fieldhouse.

For those who have something to sell, early check-in of  equipment  is next Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Jan’s Mountain Outfitters and Cole Sport on Park Ave. There’s also a check-in on Friday Nov. 4 from 3 - 7 p.m. at the Fieldhouse. The swap then opens to the public  at 8 p.m.

“It’s a great evening," Hunt said. "There’s a lot of screaming deals on the floor and it’s $10 for admission to get in on Friday evening and then on Saturday it’s $5 and then on Sunday it’s $2. The hours for Friday are 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and then on Sunday it’s 10 a.m. - 2 p.m..”

For those who go in on Friday night  - the swap has a bounce-back that allows you to return for free on Saturday and Sunday.

The swap is the biggest fundraiser that the Park City Ski team does each year. They take a 30 percent commission on all sales that benefits the team’s athletes.

Hunt said the team is a year round program that trains even in the off season.

“We’ve been doing a lot of dry land strength and conditioning these last few months, getting prepared for the season," Hunt said. "We also had a lot of summer camps this summer and getting kids ready to go and we just actually had three kids returning from Europe – they were over there with the regional level camp and then we’re going to take off Friday and head on over to Colorado.”

Hunt said you should keep your eye on returning athletes Dominik Brazerol, Claire Thomas, Sharlotte Townshend and Juliette Parke who are all senior Post Graduate athletes that are competing for the team this year.
