Known for getting all the facts right, as well as his distinctive sign-off, Rick covers Summit County meetings and issues. KPCW snagged him from The Park Record in the '80s, and he's been on air and covering the entire county ever since. He produces the Week In Review podcast, as well a heads the Friday Film Review team.

Rick is also a pop-culture savant (who would bury you in Trivial Pursuit), which makes him the perfect host for KPCW's weekend interview show of filmmakers, actors and critics during the Sundance Film Festival. Summit County Sheriff's Captain Justin Martinez says he should be elected as the new County Sheriff due to his experience, education and background. He also says the Sheriff should be transparent and take responsibility. To that end, he admitted an allegation that he was reprimanded about 15 years ago during service with the Sandy Police Department. Rick Brough has more.

The Summit County's Attorney's has declined to prosecute a Summit Park resident who shot and killed a moose after it attacked his dog about two weeks ago.

Chief Prosecutor Matthew Bates, wrote in a letter that the shooter, who legally had a 40 caliber semi-automatic hand gun under a conceal-carry permit, acted in self defense when he fired twice at the moose.

Bates, however,  said he was referring the case to Animal Control, to site the shooter for walking his dog off leash. Rick Brough has more.

A standing-roon-only crowd showed up at the Richins Services Building for a Tuesday afternoon transportation forum, organized by Summit County and Park City. The attendees got a chance to indicate their preferences on several options, and in public comment, talked about everything from roundabouts to the role of Vail Resorts. Rick Brough has more.
