The Summit County Attorney's Office obtained an Emergency Writ from a Third District Court judge on Friday, to keep a suspected drug trafficker confined in the County Jail. The County filed a petition because Justice Court Judge Shauna Kerr declined to authorize detention, feeling the arresting officer had not sufficiently explained why the suspect was pulled over in I-80.

As a result of Tuesday's voting, the towns of Oakley and Coalville both have new mayors. Wade Woolstenhulme has been elected as Oakley's new chief executive, edging out the incumbent by 26 votes.
