The United States Air Force has settled on a location in Wasatch County to develop a four-star hotel that will cater to members of the military. Leslie Thatcher has more.

Rocky Mountain Power is hoping that its planned upgrade of a major transmission line through Summit County goes into service by late-2017, to supply increased capacity in Summit and Wasatch counties. While power needs in the Park City area are a big reason fro the upgrade, the governmental review of the line has taken place mostly on the east side of Summit County. That includes a disagreement with a group of landowners, and an appeal over a section of the line, going to the Summit County Council. Rick Brough has more.

The air is bad on the Wasatch Front this week, and some parts of the Wasatch Back are seeing some haze, too.  The Wasatch County Health Department plans to install an air monitor soon.   KPCW's Renai Bodley has the story:

In Tuesday’s election, Park City voters returned incumbent Andy Beerman to the city council for another four year term. He will be joined by newcomers Nann Worel and Becca Gerber.

Park City school district’s $56 million bond to build a new 5/6 school, expand the high school and demolish TMJHS along with some improvements to athletic, music and dance facilities bond suffered a decisive defeat. With more than thousand vote difference, those voting against the bond was 3,001 compared to 1,944 voting.

Heber City Police Department

A suspected drunk driver in a pickup truck rammed a car three times on Heber’s Main Street Friday night.   Heber police say it’s not the driver’s first time with a DUI charge and he’s out of jail on bond today.  KPCW’s Renai Bodley has more.

If the numbers are any indication, mail-in voting in Wasatch County could be considered a success.   Even though Election Day is still a week away, more than 25 percent of the voters have already turned in their ballots. KPCW’s Renai Bodley has the story.

Heber City

Should a gas station be built at the end of an airport runway?  Heber City Council is grappling with that issue, along with the possiblity of an airport upgrade.  KPCW's Renai Bodley has the story. 

Wallsburg for Responsible Growth

  Wasatch County Council and Wasatch Planning Commission meetings were standing-room-only last week. Most of the crowd came to express concerns about a proposed zoning change in the small town of Wallsburg.  KPCW's Renai Bodley has the story.
