'Transportation's Uncomfortable Choices' was the topic for Thursday night's public panel discuss and forum, hosted by the Project for a Deeper Understanding. Moderated by former Summit County Commissioner and KPCW Board President Bob Richer lead the panel into a discussion of options and plans involving transportation into and around Summit County.

Summit County officially advanced to the semifinal round of the Georgetown University Prize Wednesday - a national competition to reduce energy use. Leslie Thatcher has more.

A Utah woman suspected of posing as a lawyer and representing clients is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday. KPCW's Leslie Thatcher has more.

Summit County's newly-appointed County Manager, Tom Fisher is due to come on board in a week.    Meanwhile, the County Council has a fairly light agenda for their regular session Wednesday.   Rick Brough has more.

Vail Resorts announced on January 2nd that it has taken the next steps in connecting Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort by submitting application to Summit County.  While still subject to approvals, that connection should be in place by the 2015-2016 ski season.  Lynn Ware Peek has more.

The recent events in Ferguson, Missouri have drawn concern from law enforcement professional across the country, including Summit County. A controversial grand jury decision, and the protests and riots that followed, focused on the shooting of a black teenager by a white police officer.

In response to that, and similar incidents in Utah, there have been suggestions that officers wear body cameras. Pack City Police Chief Wade Carpenter said his department is already doing that. Rick Brough has more.

Monday night, KPCW and The Park Record hosted the 2014 Election Forum for candidates running for Utah House of Representatives, Summit County Council, Summit County Attorney and Summit County Sheriff.

The forum's panel included KPCW Reporter Rick Brough, Park Record Reporter Jay Hamburger, Park Record Editor Nan Chalat-Noaker and the event was moderated by KPCW News Director Leslie Thatcher.
