Known for getting all the facts right, as well as his distinctive sign-off, Rick covers Summit County meetings and issues. KPCW snagged him from The Park Record in the '80s, and he's been on air and covering the entire county ever since. He produces the Week In Review podcast, as well a heads the Friday Film Review team.

Rick is also a pop-culture savant (who would bury you in Trivial Pursuit), which makes him the perfect host for KPCW's weekend interview show of filmmakers, actors and critics during the Sundance Film Festival. Revealing his darker side, you can catch him every Friday afternoon with Randy Barton on The Local View discussing which celebrities passed on that week.

Agreement Reached to Stop Flights

Summit County and helicopter companies come to an agreement to halt operations.

As of 1:00 PM, the helicopter companies agreed to stop operating. There will be no more flights in connection with Sundance and without obtaining the necessary land use approvals.

Four seats on the Summit County Council will be on the election ballot in 2016. Of those, only one of the current incumbents says she's not running . Rick Brough has more.

A mountain lion found in Summit Park was shot by state Division of Wildlife Resource officers Sunday morning, after it killed one dog and wounded its companion. A DWR spokesman says it's their policy to euthanize a cougar once it has harmed a human or animal. Rick Brough has more.

About 70 people turned out for a meeting Tuesday night on a prospective new location for the Summit County Fair. The citizens who spoke had questions and concerns - and showed little enthusiasm for shifting the fairgrounds to a parcel on Hoytsville Road. Rick Brough has more.

Opposing lawyers went to Third District Court last week to argue a lawsuit that is still pending after four years - an outgrowth of a trial in 2011, when the then operator of the Canyons, American Skiing Company of Utah, won a massive jury award against Wolf Mountain, the principal owner there. Afterwards, ASCU attorneys filed suit, alleging that the principals of Wolf Mountain carried out an insider land sale to keep a subdivison property at Canyons out of the jury award,d After arguments last week, Judge Paige Petersen didn't make a decision, but a ruling is scheduled for this week.

The management of KPCW has announced it's come to a landmark agreement with a Salt Lake media group. In exchange for KPCW moving one click away from its historic home on the FM dial, the station is acquiring an FM station in Salt Lake City as an asset, is improving its broadcast infrastructure and amping up its coverage.

One hundred years ago Thursday, Joe Hill was executed by a firing squad the the Utah State Prison. Commemorations were held for the legendary labor activist, who spent a short time in the Park City mines. Rick Brough has more.
