In a brief special meeting Monday, the Summit County Council named chief civil attorney Dave Thomas as acting County Attorney, following the death of Robert Hilder who served in that position. Thomas will stay in that position until Hilder's replacement is appointed. Rick Brough hast more.

Summit County Attorney David Brickey is asking voters to return him to office for the third time - though this year, he's facing an opposing candidate. Brickey told KPCW that on the criminal side, his office has been successful in holding defendants accountable. On the civil side, his staff has worked well with the county's elected officials.
