Even though one school board member says it’s not unusual to see a lot of change in school board leadership, the President of the Board, Julie Eihausen disagrees.  She surprised many with her resignation at Tuesday’s meeting effective September 30th and will resign the seat all together in February, 11 months shy of her full term.  Carolyn Murray has this: 

By the end of the month, the Park City School Board will have a new board president for the second time this year. As KPCW's Leslie Thatcher reports, at least one board member isn't shocked at this unusual trend.

Deadline for Park City School Board District 1 Applications is June 2nd.

Park City School District is taking applications for a District 1 board member to replace outgoing school board member Phil Kaplan.  His resignation from the Board of Education is effective June 9th. The newly named candidate will serve until December 2018.

Applications are accepted May 17th to June 2nd.  Candidates will be interviewed June 5th at 10 am at the District Offices in an open meeting.  A vote will be taken at the regularly scheduled June 6th School Board meeting at 9 am.

The Park City School District will begin the process of replacing board member Phil Kaplan and will have details about how they'll do that this week. Leslie Thatcher has more.

Phil Kaplan, who just last week unexpectedly resigned as president of the Park City Board of Education last week, will resign from the board completely at the end of this school year.   The following announcement came from the Park City School District late Wednesday afternoon:    

"Phil Kaplan, school board member representing District 1, has submitted his resignation from the Park City Board of Education, due to personal reasons. The resignation is effective at the end of this school year (June 9, 2017). 

There’s been a shakeup in the Park City School Board leadership, but board members are mum on the sudden resignation of the board’s presidency by Phil Kaplan. Leslie Thatcher reports.
