Park City Film Series

In this edition of This Green Earth, Chris Cherniak and Nell Larson first speak with Chris Crockett, an aquatic biologist with the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources.  Crockett specializes in amphibians and discusses the re-introduction of the Columbia Spotted Frog into Swaner Preserve.  After that, Chris and Nell speak with Katy Wang of the Park City Film Series about their latest film,  A Fierce Green Fire, a documentary about the origins of the environmental movement here in the U.S.

In this edition John Wells and Peggy Ijams welcome their first musical guest Austin Wolfe. Austin is a Park City High School student and former American Idol contestant. She sings a brand new song she just wrote two days prior and only played for her mom. You can hear her first ever official performance of the song in the podcast. During this week that some of the World's best cyclists come to Utah, the Park City Film Series will screen a documentary about a classic cycling rivalry involving American champion Greg Lemond and French champion Bernard Hinault. Lynn Ware Peek has more.

On the premiere of KPCW's Mountain Summer show, hosts John Wells and Peggy Ijams were joined by station General Manager and President Larry Warren to talk about the show and what's coming up. Ryan Cray and Kate Boyd from Park Silly Market and Alissa Daly from Republic Services joined the show to talk about "recycle day" which is their theme this Sunday. Travis English dropped by to talk about the Summit County Fair and Katy Wang joined the show to talk about the Park City Film Series.

The Park City Film Series on Thursday presents the documentary "Tanzania - A Journey Within" - the story of two unlikely friends and their trek to Africa. Rick Brough has more.

Recycle Utah will be screening the documentary ‘Last Call at the Oasis’ Thursday, February 13th at the Jim Santy Auditorium, thanks to the Park City Film Series.
