Open Space Bond

Wasatch County is in the midst of massive growth with the Mayflower project about to launch, plans to build a new county road near the Jordanelle Reservoir, an open space bond resolution for November, and transit talks with Summit County and Park City.      In a recent vote, the Midway City Council refused to put an open space bond on November’s ballot, saying all of the details had not been worked out. Pure Midway is the citizens group interested in preserving the rural setting and is building support for their cause.  Carolyn Murray has more:

“Funds are Still Needed but Park City Won’t Turn It’s Back on Bonanza Flat” reads the message in the Park City Municipal’s press release on Monday. Thirty five hundred individuals and dozens of business, non-profit and municipal entities have chipped in.  Carolyn Murray has more: 

Park City officials won't talk until tomorrow, but they have noticed an agenda item for Thursday's city council meeting that the city council will consider a purchase option for Bonanza Flat.  

The proposed purchase price is $38 million. City residents in November agreed to bond for $25 million of that. In a media advisory from Community Engagement Manager Linda Jager, representatives from Park City Council, Summit County Council, and several leading land conservation non-profits will provide a media briefing at 2 pm at the entrance to Park City Hall Thursday.
