As we've reported, a court fight the last year and a half has focused on whether the Park City Mountain Resort has a continued valid lease of 3700 acres of its ski mountain. In the meantime, the Mountain Resort has continued to use the ski terrain, while rent payments to the landlord, Talisker, have been refused. The Summit County Attorney's Office obtained an Emergency Writ from a Third District Court judge on Friday, to keep a suspected drug trafficker confined in the County Jail. The County filed a petition because Justice Court Judge Shauna Kerr declined to authorize detention, feeling the arresting officer had not sufficiently explained why the suspect was pulled over in I-80.
