As we've reported, many charges and counter-charges were made as the Park city Film Studios lawsuit went back to Third District Court for oral arguments. Among those, the attorney for studio developer Greg Ericksen said his client has been gratuitously defamed by the financier for the development, Gary Crandall. The attorney emphatically denied that Ericksen sought to establish a position of trust with Crandall based on their mutual membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Two members of the LDS Church may be excommunicated for their work on gender equality and gay rights. Lynn Ware Peek has more.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The Mormon church is warning a group of women pushing for gender equality that will not be allowed to protest in Temple Square next month during a biannual conference.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints told the members of Ordain Women in a letter sent Monday that if they insist on going forward with their plans, they'll need to protest in a zone set aside for protestors on the street.

The church said activist events detract from the sacred environment of the weekend conference in Salt Lake City.

The Mormon church has instructed a women's group not to protest during next month where a general conference will be held. Lynn Ware Peek has more.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A new federal study shows Utah had the lowest rate of alcohol-related deaths over a five-year period among eleven states that participated in the report.

The report was released this week by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It includes data from 2006-2010.

The finding seem to back the argument made by the Mormon church and many state legislators that Utah's strict liquor laws keep residents safe. 

A community conversation about whether the state legislature ought to approve Senate Bill 100, which would outlaw discrimination against the LGBT community across the state will be held Tuesday night. KPCW's Leslie Thatcher has more.
