The Story Mine - June 15, 2014

Jun 15, 2014

Father's Day is a time to talk about our families and the influence they have over our lives. Cathy Barker shares several reflections of her father followed by Lamont Peterson telling "Everyone Can Dance". Christian Riehle sharing his poignant story about his Father titled "The Trumpeter." David Bullock is the final presenter telling his classic story, "The Long Road."

Your Mother's Day begins with one of our favorite storytellers, Kim Weitkamp telling an amazing tale about her mother, her family, and Elvis Presley called "WZIX". Includes Kim's original song, titled "A Song for Mom".

It's Easter Sunday and you will enjoy Cathy and Dave's banter about eggs. This show spotlights a family tale called "Broken Bones" by one of our listener favorites, national storyteller veteran, Donald Davis. Donald creates and performs stories that reflect rural America in the 50's and 60's.

Spotlighting World Oral Health Day, which was celebrated this past week, we include a hilarious tale by Bil Lepp, an internationally-known storyteller and humorist. Bil is a FIVE time winner of the West Virginia's Liars' Contest. You will enjoy this outrageous tale called, "I Love My Dentist". Ed Stivender will also share his tongue in cheek tale, "Peanut Butter".
