Heber City officials, residents and business owners have talked for years about the need to divert traffic off US Highway 40 with a bypass road. The Heber Valley Chamber Bureau wants the state of Utah to deed a 6 mile stretch of the highway to Heber City in order to take through traffic around the downtown area. Carolyn Murray has this:

The federal lawsuit filed against the Park City School District by former Park City High principal Hilary Hays has come to a confidential settlement. However, there's still a big question mark hanging over the resolution. Due to the size of the settlement, it's been referred to Governor Gary Herbert to be ratified. The parties in the dispute haven't heard from the governor's office yet -- after nearly four months of waiting. Rick Brough has more.

Immediately after Governor Herbert signed into law the nation's strictest DUI limit, the news started to spread around the world.  The head of a national hospitality group is criticizing the move, while a long-time restaurant owner in Park City expressed his concerns.  KPCW's Renai Bodley has the story: 

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Gov. Gary Herbert has signed 8 bills designed to clear Utah's murky wintertime skies.

Herbert took the action during a ceremony Friday attended by clear air advocates including some lawmakers who published for the legislation.

The new laws will facilitate electrical vehicle charging stations, assist homeowners whose only source of heat is wood burning, provide tax credits for energy efficient vehicles and encourage use of biodiesel fuel.
