More than a thousand people helped celebrate the 20th anniversary of the opening of Park City's first large-scale publicly financed auditorium for the performing arts on Saturday night. There were accolades for the civic leaders, fundraisers, visionaries and promoters who have brought hundreds of educating, illuminating and entertaining acts to the George S. and Delores Dore Eccles state at Park City High School. Rhiannon Giddens Park City Institute

Grammy-winning vocalist Rhiannon Giddens hits the Eccles Main Stage this New Year’s Eve at 8pm. Giddens co-founded The Carolina Chocolate Drops, an old-time string band from Durham, NC, in which she plays banjo and fiddle.  She has also played with Yo-Yo Ma in the Silk Road String Ensemble and received a MacArthur Foundation Genius Award for 2017. MythBusters Adam Savage Comes for One Night Only

Known for his myth busting antics with partner in science, Jamie Hyneman, Adam Savage of the Discovery Channel's MythBusters  isn’t bringing his creative experimentations to the Eccles Center. He does, however, promise a great time with a couple of surprises for his audience that will include a Q & A.

On today's program, host Leslie Thatcher speaks to Utah Park Naturalist Kathy Donnell; Summit County Council Member Tal Adair; Woodland resident Seth Winterton who will be running for House District 53 and Artistic Director Bill T. Jones.

On today's program, Charlie Sturgis with Mountain Trails Foundation has this week's update. State Representative Kraig Powell talks about legislation he's proposing for the January session. Park City Institute Director Teri Orr talks about the line up for this winter's Main Stage at the Eccles Center that opens December 5th with a conversation with Edward Snowden. Park City Council  Member Tim Henney reviews some of the business at Thursday's council meeting, including a new ordinance regulating trash and recycling bins in Old Town.

America welcomed 170 new U-S citizens Wednesday at a Naturalization Ceremony held  in Park City.  KPCW’s Leslie Thatcher was there and has this report.
