Public input during the Park City School Board meeting on Tuesday was extensive, with a handful of representatives taking the podium to urge the governing board to ask Superintendent Ember Conley to reconsider her resignation.  Carolyn Murray has this report:  

The Park City Board of Education meets  Tuesday for their final meeting of 2017. Associate Director from the Utah School Board Association plans to present strategies for hiring a replacement for departing superintendent Ember Conley.  Other agenda items include a detailed discussion of the Master Planning process along with budget and tax increase conversations. The school board meets Tuesday at 9 am.  The agenda includes Master Planning and Budget updates.  Additional items for discussion will include the district’s reading support program and transit tunnels under Highway 248 in an attempt to address traffic congestion.  Carolyn Murray has more:

Wednesday afternoon Park City School District Superintendent Ember Conley and Park City Police Captain Phil Kirk held a news conference to update the community on the investigation of the deaths of two Treasure Mountain Junior High School students.  13-year-old Grant Seaver passed away at his home Sunday.  Tuesday, his friend Ryan Ainsworth, also 13, was found deceased at his home.

The superintendent of Park City Schools has posted a letter on the school district’s website publicly apologizing for what she described as her inadequately worded and poor timing of her email that was sent to parents on May 2nd. KPCW’s Leslie Thatcher has more…
