In a sold-out event, the Park City Area Lodging Association handed out its first ever Black Diamond Awards Wednesday. Leslie Thatcher has more.

Vail Resorts announced on January 2nd that it has taken the next steps in connecting Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort by submitting application to Summit County.  While still subject to approvals, that connection should be in place by the 2015-2016 ski season.  Lynn Ware Peek has more.

Park City and Summit County, which have often worked together, have made it official, with an inter-local agreement to jointly plan the Canyons Resort and Park City Mountain Resort areas. As KPCW's Rick Brough reports, the County Council approved the agreement on Wednesday.

The Summit County Council today will have another look at its proposed animal control ordinance and is planning a field trip on Thursday to look at the proposed wilderness areas. KPCW's Leslie Thatcher has more.

With the opening and closing of the Canyon's Golf Course in just two days, there weren't many people who had the chance to play the 18-hole 70 par course built on the side of the mountain.  But after touring the course last week, KPCW's Leslie Thatcher says it looks to be a challenge.

Now that Vail Resorts has announced it's planning a skier connection from Canyons Resort to the Park City Mountain Resort, a lot of people are wondering what legal process the plan has to go through.

Deputy County Attorney Jamie Bracken shed some light on that - saying that the Specially-Planned Area approval for Canyons doesn't have to be re-opened. Rick Brough has more.

SKI Magazine is out with the new 2015 Best Ski Resort rankings, and Deer Valley has once again kept its position in the Top 3. Leslie Thatcher has more.

Canyons golf course designers and builders are scrambling to make the final holes of the golf course green, in order to be ready for its opening in just over three weeks. Lynn Ware Peek has more.

One major item for the Summit County Council in the future is an appeal from the Canyons Resort, to County Manager Bob Jasper's denial of a new ski maintenance building. Jasper said that is scheduled to be heard the first week of June.
However, Jasper has made a decision on an item related to that. Rick Brough has more.
