Radio entertainment hosted by Cathy Barker and David Bullock, featuring stories as told by their authors and tellers from all over the world. Tall Tales, Folklore, Poetry, Cowboy Poets, Adventure, Historical and life experiences.


Storytellers for many years, Cathy and Dave have participated in many storytelling festivals throughout the West, including the Weber Storytelling Festival and the Timpanogoes Storytelling Festival. Dave has participated in programs at various schools. A dream was born shortly after they met to take their love of telling stories to a greater audience.

The mission of The Story Mine is to promote the Art of Storytelling. After all, everyone has a story to tell.

Our vision is to create an avenue where all may enjoy the power of story; where all may learn to listen more intently; where all may learn how to find and share their own stories with confidence.


The Story Mine is a 30-minute radio show on KPCW 91.7 FM in Park City, Utah can be streamed live at This program will feature storytellers from around the world and their stories. Your hosts, Cathy and Dave, will bring to you a treasure of stories from The Story Mine. Gather your family around the radio on Sunday mornings at 8:30 AM (MTN). What a way to start your day. as our stories will bring a smile to your face or a tear to your eye. Stories are not just for children anymore!

Accomplished storyteller Elly Reidy retells "The Scholar and the Bird"; Liz Weir recounts her telling of an iconic Irish tale, "Jack and the Magic Horse", Julie Barnson of the Utah Storytelling Guild shares a folktale from Denmark called "Blockhead Hans".

Bil is a FIVE time winner of the West Virginia's Liars' Contest. You will enjoy this outrageous tale called, "I Love My Dentist". Ed Stivender will also share his tongue in cheek tale, "Peanut Butter".
