Host Randy Barton.

Hosted by Randy Barton, The Local View is a program featuring local news, interviews, live music and local event information.

Born and raised in Utah, Randy has been a fixture in Park City for more decades than he would like to admit. He has started and handed off various local institutions, including Mountain Town Stages (now Mountain Town Music), Park City Performers (now The Egyptian Theatre) and the restaurant chain Stone Cutters (still Stone Cutters).

Randy was also formerly at KPCW as a music DJ and returned in 2005 to afternoon drive spot, where he advocates all things local. He has a soft spot for entertainers and features local musicians, and performers on the road who are traveling into Summit County.

Randy Barton keeps it local on The Local View, but there's still some Sundance bling shining through.

Former Park City TV host Patrick Lovell comes to the studio to talk about his film (not in the festival), "Forward 13: Waking Up The American Dream".

Woman-around-town Cindy Gottshall came by the KPCW studios today during The Local View with Randy Barton to celebrate her 46th birthday. Her appearance is an annual tradition, and she is one of only a handful of locals who have a standing invitation to announce their birthdays on air.

Folks called in to wish her a happy birthday and even City Manager Diane Foster called in and sang her wishes.

Cindy's actual birthday is Sunday, January 12th. But as her father told KPCW, "We start [celebrating] early and finish late."

As it should be.
