NPR's national show Morning Edition is interspersed with Park City's only daily local news source, live every weekday morning from 6:00 to 8:00 AM. Whether recapping the previous night's School Board meeting, informing listeners on a recent development on a government project or a featured story on a piece of local color, veteran news anchor Leslie Thatcher delivers the news that makes Park City a community.

The Local News Hour follows Morning Edition and is KPCW's flagship news program, also hosted by KPCW News Director Leslie Thatcher, every weekday from 8 to 9 AM. Get the information directly from the people who are making the news with live interviews.

Unresponsive Candidates Still Make Primary Necessary

Two of the six candidates running for Park City council don't appear to be very interested in the race. Neither Lisa Wilson nor Bill McKenna have showed up for an on-air interview with KPCW - nor have they returned repeated email and phone call requests. As KPCW's Leslie Thatcher reports, city taxpayers will still pick up the costs to hold a primary that maybe didn't need to happen.

The clock is ticking for Park City to meet the safe drinking water standards for antimony-laced water coming out of the Judge Mine Tunnel. But after the bids for a project to transport the water down to the Quinn's Water Treatment Plant came back $5 million more than budgeted, the city is reworking the project. The Summit County held the second of their hearings on Neighborhood Plans in the Snyderville General Plan - and drew their largest audience so far, 10 people.
