Whether recapping the previous night's School Board meeting, informing listeners on a recent development on a government project or a featured story on a piece of local color, veteran news anchor Leslie Thatcher delivers the news that makes Park City a community.

The Local News Hour follows Morning Edition and is KPCW's flagship news program, also hosted by KPCW News Director Leslie Thatcher, every weekday from 8 to 9 AM. Get the information directly from the people who are making the news with live interviews.

Attorneys Grapple Over Talisker's Corporate Structure

As we've reported, Park City Mountain Resort was granted a motion Wednesday to amend their lawsuit against Talisker Land Holdings. As part of the arguments in Third District Court, opposing attorneys jousted over the details of the complicated corporate structure that now oversees Talisker, the Canyons Resort, and the ski mountain leased by the Park City Mountain Resort. Alexie And Eyre Talk Film

Author and screenwriter Sherman Alexie and director Chris Eyre aired last Thursday night for a free screening of their film "Smoke Signals" which was a hit at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival.

This week, they talked to KPCW's Leslie Thatcher how they came to create a movie that is now considered an independent Native American classic. Rick Brough has more.

Man Arrested in Promontory After Running Through Fire Barricade

A Promontory resident, arrested in August for running through a fire barricade to get to his home, pled guilty to a Class A Misdemeanor in Third District Court Monday. His sentence included 12 months of probation. Rick Brough has more.

PCMR Wins Right to Amend Lawsuit Against Talisker

Park City Mountain Resort won an important round in Third District court Wednesday. Judge Ryan Harris ruled that PCMR can amend its lawsuit against its landlord, Talisker. While PCMR still maintains that its leases for the bulk of its ski terrain are valid, Judge Harris said PCMR can also press the claim that its rights under the lease have been violated, because Talisker allegedly transferred or sold the 3700 acres of ski mountain to another company, possibly one tied to Vail Resorts.
