Discovery hit by lawsuits
The Discovery residential project, approved last month by County Council, is being challenged by two lawsuits in Third District Court. The affordable-housing development under the county’s CORE program, granted 105 units along the Kilby Frontage Road, is facing a lawsuit from the Weilenmann School of Discovery, which is located next to the project site. A second suit was filed by a group of neighbors calling itself “Citizens for the Alignment of Growth and the Environment’ (or CAGE.) Both suits were filed late last week. Rick Brough has more.

Julie Hooker criticizes Proposition 2
Summit County officials have said previously that they couldn’t find a spokesman to express opposition to Proposition #2, on this fall’s election ballot—which is asking to spend $2 million from the tax stability fund. But recently-resigned Snyderville Planning Commissioner Julie Hooker said she will vote against the ballot question—because the county has appealed to fear rather than providing information.
