FOL Changes Author Luncheon Location
Due to a water main break at Deer Valley’s Silver Lake Lodge, the location of the Friends of the Park City Library Author Luncheon has been changed. The luncheon will be moved to Empire Lodge and with very limited parking there, carpooling is encouraged. The Friends ask that you park and meet friends in the Sandridge Avenue parking lots, located as you go up Marsac Avenue or on the top floor of the China Bridge parking garage. The Friends are hosting southern author Rick Bragg.

Canyons Resort Doesn’t Have to Pay Rent
According to a recent Third District court ruling, Canyons Resort doesn’t have to send in the annual $3 million rent that’s owed to it’s landlord, Wolf Mountain. Instead, the judge says the rent can be deducted from the $60 million court judgement that Wolf Mountain owes the ski resort. KPCW’s Leslie Thatcher has more.
Conflict of Interest Questions Raised with Rec Board Appointment
Last month, the Summit County Council appointed local attorney David Kottler as the newest member of the Snyderville Basin Recreation District Board. At the same time, Kottler’s law practice, has a significant focus on suits involving ski injuries and other recreational mishaps. While some question if that’s a wise selection, saying his appointment creates a conflict of interest, county council members and Kottler himself, say they don’t see it that way. KPCW’s Rick Brough has more.
