Following the award of a half-million dollars and volunteer help to Summit County nonprofit organizations Wednesday night, the CEO and Chairman of the Board for Vail Resorts, the new operator of Canyons, Rob Katz, addressed the invited crowd. After expressing his disappointment that Vail Resorts couldn't host this year's Park City Road Tour group due to the Boulder flooding, he's hopeful they will visit next summer. In the meantime, he joked he'll be lobbying the editors of Outside Magazine to see if Boulder could be named as the Best Outdoor Town. Katz then went on to talk about who Vail Resorts is, what the company's vision is and why Utah is such an important part of its portfolio.
