SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah's unemployment rate continued to drop last month when it fell to 4.1%, the lowest it has been since 2008.
Utah's jobless rate has remained below 5% since March 2013.
The Department of Workforce Services reported Friday that Utah's rate remains well below the national unemployment rate at 6.7% in December.
The nationwide unemployment dropped from 7% because about 350,000 unemployed workers left the workforce.
Despite Utah's falling rate, DWS says December marked the fifth month in a row where Utah's job growth was below average.
Officials say Utah added 22,500 nonfarm jobs to the state economy last month as comapred to December 2013.
