The Marriott Library Ski Archive is hosting its annual Ski Affair in Sale Lake, with organizers saying it will likely attract a Who’s Who of Skiing in Utah.
The event will be held on October 30th at the Little America Hotel, starting at 6:00 pm.
Among other things, the S.J. Quinney Award will go to Howard Peterson, the progenitor of the Soldier Hollow cross-country and biathlon site in Wasatch County.
Barbara Yamada is the chair of the volunteer committee for the event.
“We’ll have a static display of the Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame inductees as well as Howard Peterson. The other group that we’re honoring that evening is the Utah Avalanche Center which is part of the U.S. Forest Service. They will be receiving the history maker award. During that time people can bid on silent auction items that we’re going to have.”
Yamada added that admission is $75 per person or $1,500 for a group of 10.
