University Of Utah Chooses A New Diversity Official

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The University of Utah is bringing on a new director for its American Indian Resource Center.

The Office for Equity and Diversity has chosen Franci Taylor as the new leader.

Taylor is a member of the Choctaw tribe. She comes from Washington State University, where she was the Native American retention counselor.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Taylor's first day on the job is July 1.

Campus and community members are set to welcome her with a reception at the resource center.
