South Point Project Before Planning Commission

The  Eastern Summit County Planning Commission will hold  a Public Hearing tonight to discuss a Development Agreement Amendment for the South Point of the Promontory Specially Planned Area, which is proposing nearly three times the amount of density that was originally approved.

The Eastern Planning Commission meets on Thursday, June 1st at 6 pm at the Kamas City Council chambers.  The applicant, Rich Sonntag, who is also an East Side Planning Commissioner, is looking to amend the Promontory Specially Planned Area (SPA) Development Agreement. The 800 acre parcel is located just off  Brown's Canyon Road. If approved, the amendment would add 735 residential units beyond the 285 currently approved for a new development south of Promontory for a total of 1,020 units. The applicant is also requesting 190,000 sq. ft. of commercial density and 350 hotel rooms. The commercial and hotel density is not part of the current approval.

The project is also proposing an indoor water park, a community park and trails, a helicopter pad and transit center.
