Park City Summit County Arts Council Executive Director Resigns

parkcity.org

The Park City Summit County Arts Council Executive Director Hadley Dynak handed in her resignation last week. Melissa Allison has more:

Executive Director Hadley Dynak and her family moved to Park City from the Bay Area five years ago. Dynak said it was a family decision to return to California.

“Change kind of comes, it’s the one constant in life," Dynak said. "It’s inevitable and, usually doesn’t happen at opportune time so, we are in this position right now but you know I think the story here is how much work the arts council has done in the last couple of years. We’re really excited about the momentum and the future growth. And, also the community conversation that has really evolved around the relevance and importance of arts and culture to all of us.”

Dynak said it’s a good stopping point to make a change like this.

“We’ll be physically leaving town in August and I’ll be available to support during the transition as necessary," Dynak said. "But, you know the board is incredibly engaged and committed and we have great staff with Jocelyn and Jake at the helm in the interim. Volunteers and stakeholder partners and so I think that we’re tee’d up, we’ve started the search already for the new ED and hoping that transition will go smoothly.”

Dynak and her group have just finished the yearlong, Project ABC. She said their lead consultant for the project will make sure the project continues on.

“Jake McIntire, who was our lead consultant during the planning phase, is gonna stay on to oversee the implementation next steps," Dynak said. "He’s actually coming up again next on Thursday and gonna kind of lay out, you know, what the next year or so is gonna hold in terms of tracking implementation, maintaining momentum with the key stakeholders and then moving some of the specific recommendations forward.”

Dynak says they’ve posted the position on their website and invites interested parties to learn more at pcscarts.org.
