Park City Police are investigating a possible homicide, but very little is being said at this point.
Park City police officers responded to the Park Regency Hotel – located at 1710 Prospector Ave. just before 1:30 this morning on a suspicious circumstance. When they arrived, they found a dead woman in bed in one of the hotel rooms. In addition to the Park City Police Department, the Summit County Sheriff's Office, Department of Public Safety, Utah Attorney General’s Office investigators and Unified Police Forensics team are all on scene conducting the investigation. They could be seen searching the area with a metal detector earlier this morning. Police do not have reason to believe there is an imminent threat or danger to public safety.
The victim's identity will not be released until she has been positively identified and the next of kin have been properly notified.
