This Green Earth - August 30, 2016

On the program today the firs guest is Molly Brooks who is the new Outreach and Communications Director for Recycle Utah. She talks about the latest types and tons of material they have sent to recycling, reprocessing and repurposing. Then in the second part of the show we learn that almost 2-hundred miles of the Yellowstone River and its tributaries was closed to fishing and recreational use last week due to an outbreak of a parasite that is killing large populations of mountain whitefish and trout.  We speak with Ron Aashseim, a spokesperson with the Montana fish, wildlife and Parks about this outbreak, why its happening and what’s being done to control the potential spread of the parasite to other bodies of water. finally, Reece DeMille with Republic Services stops by to give us some back to school tips on sustainability.

Co-host of KPCW's This Green Earth.
