Monika Guendner / KPCW

Host John Wells disappears this week with Spring Fever, and KPCW deejays Shirin Spangenberg and Monika Guendner step in to dispel the rumors that there's nothing to do in town after the resorts close. Park City Historic District's Alison Kuhlow stops by to give an update on everything that's new and open during the spring, as well as tips on how to get free parking on Main Street. In between all the shoulder season news, local artists from past shows round this out for the Best of The Morning Mix, with performances by Shannon Runyon, Elizabeth Hareza and Teresa Eggertsen Cook.

Monika Guendner / KPCW

Hosts John Wells and Peggy Ijams are out "on assignment" this week, so The Morning Mix gets taken over by the B Team - guest hosts Shirin Spangenberg, Monika Guendner and Ethel Preston. This show focuses on some of the best music and musicians who have appeared on the show over the last quarter, featuring Small House Strings, BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet, Amber Ikeman and Sarah Anne Degraw.

Chris Cherniak and guest co-host Shirin  Spangenberg  chat with Mary Christina Smith, the project manager for the Summit County Power Works – the non-profit organization formed to vie for a five million dollar prize  being offered by Georgetown University to the community that can reduce its residential electricity and natural gas consumption  the most over a two year period.  The competition kicked off January first and continues until December 31st of 2016.  Smith gave details on SCPW’s efforts to date and what plans and programs they have in store to continue our front running status.

On this episode of The Morning Mix, hosts Peg Ijams and Shirin Spangenberg talked about all kinds of entertainment coming your way this weekend, including The Salt Lake Bees and roller derby.
