Known for getting all the facts right, as well as his distinctive sign-off, Rick covers Summit County meetings and issues. KPCW snagged him from The Park Record in the '80s, and he's been on air and covering the entire county ever since. He produces the Week In Review podcast, as well a heads the Friday Film Review team.

Rick is also a pop-culture savant (who would bury you in Trivial Pursuit), which makes him the perfect host for KPCW's weekend interview show of filmmakers, actors and critics during the Sundance Film Festival. Revealing his darker side, you can catch him every Friday afternoon with Randy Barton on The Local View discussing which celebrities passed on that week.

Osguthorpe Dog Bite Charges Settled

The Summit County Attorney's office has reached a settlement with long-time area rancher Steve Osguthorpe on charges that he was responsible for two dog-bite incidents that took place in the fall of 2008 on trails in the Canyons Resort area.   The county and Osguthorpe signed onto a 'diversion agreement" which calls on the rancher to meet a couple of conditions.    But Osguthorpe still denies guilt in the agreement and vigorously rejects the county's allegations.    Rick Brough has more

Bed And Breakfast Approved

The Summit County Council on April 17th voted to grant a Conditional Use Permit for the Silver Moose Bed and Breakfast--though the approval came with a long list of conditions. Meanwhile, the attorney for the business said he and his clients were pleased with the Council's decision. Rick Brough has more.

Former Nanny Pleads Guilty

A Salt Lake nanny, who was arrested last year on charges that she harmed the infant twins of a Summit County couple, pled guilty on April 15th to two counts of child abuse. Rick Brough has more.

County Council Considers Leash Laws

Summit County Council Member Roger Armstrong is suggesting that the county should look again at the topic of dogs and the county leash law. In a brief discussion April 10th, Council members noted that the law is routinely ignored by dog owners, but they don't have the resources in Animal Control to vigorously enforce it. Indian Hollow Project Recommended

After years of discussion and debate, the East County Planning Commission has sent a positive recommendation for Indian Hollow, a 65-lot project located off Democrat Alley in the Kamas Valley.  Rick Brough has more.

Park City Sued Over Affordable Unit

Originally aired April 11, 2013.

Park City Municipal is being sued by the owner of an affordable-housing unit in the Flagstaff neighborhood. In the litigation filed in Third District Court, Gretchen Brooks says that under the city's enforcement of the Deed Restriction on her unit, she can't rent it for enough to cover her costs, and she can't personally use the housing.   Rick Brough has more.

Ozone Levels Rising In Summit County

State environmental officials say that western Summit County is seeing elevated levels of ozone--and the county could be designated as a problem area if federal pollution standards change.    But they told the Summit County Council Wednesday that there is no particular new law or program they can adopt as a cure.   Rick Brough has more.

Molly Blooms License Revoked By State

Originally aired April 2, 2013.

Molly Blooms Pub and Restaurant at Kimball Junction has had its liquor license revoked by an order from the Utah Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission.   The Commission's ruling, which pulled the license as of March 27th, found the restaurant committed several violations by hosting a sexually-oriented male dance revue last fall.   The pub's attorney, though, says they plan to challenge the ruling with the Utah Court of Appeals.    Rick Brough has more.

Parkite's Video Game Program Honored
