Freeskier Sarah Burke Dies
The 29 year old half pipe skier Sarah Burke of Canada died this morning. According to a statement issued by University of Utah Hospital Burke died as a result an accident a week ago Tuesday when she tore an artery that provides blood to the brain while training at Park City Mountain Resort. The statement says that Burke’s injuries caused massive neurological damage after her brain was deprived of oxygen due to cardiac arrest following the accident. According to her wishes, Burke’s organs and tissues will be donated.

Park City Live Opens for Sundance
The Main Street club formerly known as Harry O’s will re-open Thursday and bring in name acts for the Sundance Film Festival. KPCW’s Leslie Thatcher has more.
Raleigh Studios Come to Park City
After more than a year of negotiation, Park City, Summit County and the owner of 29 acres at Quinn’s Junction have agreed to allow a movie studio, hotel and entertainment center to built at that highly visible location. KPCW’s Leslie Thatcher has more.
Diane Foster Named as Interim Assistant City Manager
Diane Foster who has been working in Park City’s Sustainability Department has been named as the city’s interim assistant city manager. While the city intends to open the position to a nationwide search, Foster will serve in the job for the new few months. Foster is currently enrolled in the Masters of Public Administration program at the University of Utah and says she intends to apply for the job when it’s open.
