As we’ve reported, plans are in the works to upgrade two local power substations and the power lines that accompany them. The Rocky Mountain power project could double the size of the facilities and the towers that hold the transmission lines but the power company’s representatives say it’s necessary. Local officials are concerned about the impacts the upgrade could have on the community but say cooperating with the utility giant will get them further than trying to fight expansion.
